A Complete Catholic Prayer Book With Epistles and Gospels for Every Sunday and Holyday of the Year 2010 748p (reprint of 1960 ed.) IL flexible bonded leather cover/white edges/ribbon. Book Condition: New. #55722 $34
Since 1983 we have been doing work in the used book business and we have come across hundreds of different devotional manuals, prayer-books, novena books, Sunday missals, etc. And many writers or compilers have put together these books over the years. Now the book for which we have had the most demand since we began our work in the book business is precisely the book we are featuring here. The Blessed Be God book is probably one of the few Catholic traditional prayer-books that covers most of the bases when it comes to novenas, pious exercises, prayers, litanies, the Sunday Masses, etc. No prayer-book has everything, but this one has much of what any Catholic may want for his or her daily spiritual life.
Our new republished edition was printed on a nice white thin paper with a black flex bonded leather binding. The cover and spine lettering is in gold with rounded and white edges. One green marking ribbon was added for easy and quick reference. One important feature we added to the binding was this: durability. The end sheets are made of a material that will keep the book bound for long lasting use. The binding should not detach or break from the book block very easily after constant use because of this reinforced binding. The original imprimatur was 1925 and our first 3 printings of this book were from the 1940 edition. This new edition is a reprint of the 1959 imprimatur edition without any additions or alterations, except for the table of moveable feasts which is good up to the year 2051. This book conforms with the 2007 Motu Proprio issued by the then reigning Pope Benedict XVI.
As a handy and small book, one may easily carry it in one’s coat pocket or purse. Indeed it is an ideal choice as a devotional prayer book as well as a Sunday missal since it includes the Epistles and Gospels for each Sunday plus the Holy days and principal feasts of the Liturgical year.
